The Big Idea

During the COVID-19 quarantine, the world saw a whole lot of change despite the fact that most of us were confined to our homes for about two weeks straight. A lot of these trends were directly related to making the best of our new living situations. We were getting food from our favorite restaurants delivered right to our doors. We discovered TikTok and couldn't stop doing dance challenges. However, one trend that is less talked about is the massive explosion of sex toy sales (pun intended). In some parts of the world, companies saw as much as a 60% increase in sales. This got me thinking.

Quarantine Kinks

Ever heard of the UK television show called Love Island? Well, thanks to Hulu, it consumed my life during quarantine and ended up being the main inspiration behind this campaign. I decided to create a set of ads to market the hypothetical expansion of the brand Unbound into the UK market. I used common UK slang terminology to target young people, specifically the types of people who would use these slang terms in their daily lives. Because slang terms are usually fairly specific to certain areas of a country, these ads would be placed at bus stops and Underground stations within the specific areas where the slang terms are used.
